The Finance Committee of the Legislative Council has been consulted and has agreed in principle

to the proposals outlined above.

If the necessary expenditure meets with your approval I request that arrangements may be made for the placing of an immediate order for the delivery of 100,000 respirators and that particulars of the price and of the probable date of delivery

may be furnished without delay.

I enclose a formal indent for transmission

to the Crown Agents for the Colonies.
